Tooth loss is devastating in many ways, and restoring your smile with dentures is a significant life change and a big decision!

If you’ve lost multiple teeth and are considering dentures for tooth replacement, All-on-X may be an ideal solution for your smile. Instead of managing removable dentures, which may be challenging to eat and chew with, All-on-X uses dental implants to support the denture and hold it securely in place.

Our patients appreciate the freedom and confidence they enjoy when they choose implant-supported dentures for their smiles.

What Are the Benefits of All-on-X Implant Dentures?

All-on-X dental implants offer several benefits for your smile, oral health, and overall well-being. Here’s what you should know and consider when thinking about choosing implant dentures for your smile.

Enhanced Function

With the stability of dental implants, chewing becomes more comfortable and reliable.

Improved Nutrition

When you can easily bite and chew, you can enjoy a broader range of healthy foods.

Jawbone Health

Dental implants protect the health of your bone by keeping it stimulated for regrowth.

Boosted Confidence

Restoring the aesthetics of your smile can help you feel more confident about sharing it.

Better Longevity

Dental implants have the potential to last a lifetime, providing excellent longevity for your denture.

Facial Structure

A denture supports proper facial structure, preventing the sagging appearance often accompanying denture wear.

Frequently Asked Questions

The All-on-4® concept (also called all-on-x) uses just four strategically placed implants to support an entire arch of teeth. Individual implants are just that—they use one implant each to replace missing teeth.

Key Differences with All-on-X Implants

Number of Implants:

  • All-on-X — Four implants per arch
  • Individual Implants — One implant per missing tooth (10–14 implants per arch)

Treatment Timeline:

  • All-on-X — Often completed in one day with immediate temporary teeth
  • Individual Implants — Requires multiple surgeries over several months

Bone Requirements:

  • All-on-x — Works even with some bone loss due to angled placement
  • Individual implants — May require bone grafting if insufficient bone exists

Cost and Convenience

  • Cost Efficient — All-on-x is significantly more affordable than replacing each tooth individually, especially with multiple missing teeth.
  • Less Surgery — Fewer implants mean less surgery, reduced healing time, and lower risk of complications.
  • Easier Maintenance — You can remove and clean all-on-x prosthetics as one unit, while you clean individual implants like natural teeth.

How Do All-on-X Implant Dentures Work?

Our Champaign dentists use hybrid dental implants to support your new denture. We place two to six dental implants and design your denture to “snap” into them so there is no movement or slippage when you talk, laugh, chew, or eat the foods you would typically enjoy.

Dental implants also stimulate the jawbone, keeping it healthy and supporting the denture. This avoids the bone deterioration commonly occurring with traditional removable dentures, which use the jawbone to hold them in place securely.

Am I a Candidate for Hybrid Dentures in Champaign?

Are you considering replacing an entire arch of upper or lower teeth with dentures? Are you currently wearing ill-fitting dentures that cause slippage when you talk or eat?

You might be a candidate for All-on-X dental implants. If you lack enough healthy bone structure to support an implant denture, our dentists may recommend bone grafting to rebuild the bone before implant placement.

We will review all of your options during an evaluation where our dentists will use photos, x-rays, 3-D imaging, and a thorough exam to determine the best course of treatment for your needs.

Contact your team at Anderson Dental at (217) 356-7334 to schedule an evaluation and determine how hybrid dental implants in Champaign might benefit you.
